Ginkgo Biloba is among the most extraordinary and stunningly beautiful deciduous trees because of its distinct fan-like foliage that changes into golden yellow during the Fall. It has resistance to many conditions within a city, which includes air pollution, confined spaces, salt and heat. This unique tree was first seen over 290 million years ago, and the only living species in the Ginkgoales order. They live very long, with some that are known to be more than 2,500 years old. Ginkgo loves full sun, and best grown in moist and well-drained soil. It is also tolerant to insects and other diseases. It has a great canopy, making it ideal for a good shade in your landscape. It can grow up to 70 feet tall and 40 feet wide. Make sure to water it heavily during its early years. At maturity, it is moderately resistant to drought.
