Summer savory (Satureja Hortensis) is an annual plant with a bright, herbaceous flavor.

Our Summer Savory Powder is made from plants that are biodynamically grown in Northern California and then carefully shade dried. The shade-drying process preserves all the valuable oils and nutrients in the plant.

Besides adding a peppery, subtly spicy flavor to almost any dish, summer savory has been shown to be a potent medicine in lowering the levels of the ENOX 3 protein in the blood. The blood level of the ENOX 3 protein is thought to be a specific biomarker for aging. When used for its medicinal value, it is important to consume it daily, about ¼ to ½ tsp a day.

Summer Savory Powder will be a welcome addition to soups, stews, meat or savory vegetable dishes. Our favorite way to use it is sprinkled liberally over salads or added to vinaigrettes. We also like it sprinkled over cooked eggs.

Inside this jar are approximately 50 servings! One-quarter teaspoon equals an average adult-size serving.
